The Editors

Editorial Director
Jonathan Fenby has had a distinguished career in international journalism. Formerly Editor of The Observer in Britain, The South China Morning Post, Reuters World Service and a Director of Guardian Newspapers, he has also held senior editorial positions with The Economist. He is the author of books on Europe and Asia and of many articles on both continents, particularly in China, and broadcasts frequently for stations including the BBC, CNN, CNBC, FR2, Radio France, and CBC. A Director of the European Journalism Centre, he was made both a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) and Chevalier of the French Ordre National du Merite for services to journalism. His survey of contemporary France, 'On The Brink', is an authoritative account of that country, hailed by the New York Times for its 'fascinating reporting' and by the Wall Street Journal for its 'searching diagnosis'.

Editor
Robert Harvey is a leading analyst and commentator on international affairs. Author of many books on current affairs, including the path-breaking 'Global Disorder' on the post- 9/11 world, he is a former Member of the British Parliament and Members of the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee. He was Assistant Editor of The Economist and a foreign affairs editorial writer and columnist for the Daily Telegraph. A specialist on the Middle East, Europe and Latin America, he was one of the first to note the rise of Saddam Hussein before reporting on the Iran/Iraq War, the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan, the Gulf War and Central America's conflicts. Foreign Secretary Lord Howe wrote of Global Disorder: 'The sad thing is that so little has been done to implement any significant part of its advice.'
